Min. Myrvin Garnett
Minister
Myrvin was born in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands to Guyanese parents living in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. His parents moved to the United States when he was of school age where they placed him at St. John Neumann Catholic Primary School Living in East New York, Brooklyn. He attended Thomas A. Edison Vocational & Technical High School in Queens, NY with studies in mechanical engineering and graduating in 1990. He was accepted at New York Institute of Technology where he attended classes nightly and on weekends. He attended his local church, St. Paul Community Baptist Church in East New York, Brooklyn under Rev. Dr. Johnny Ray Youngblood.
Myrvin moved his family to Hempstead - Long Island, NY with no place to fellowship. Some years later, he would eventually move back to East New York, Brooklyn to his family home. Myrvin returned seeking guidance at St. Paul Community Baptist Church. The growing church welcomed him back just as Rev. Dr. David K. Brawley joined the leadership and was selected to head the men's ministry. Experiencing this phenomenon of men in the church, led him to seek God through fellowship and wisdom through the book of Proverbs. He started to rebuild his life and continued his corporate climb which led him to Plainview, New York. Myrvin then moved to Amityville, NY where he fell out of fellowship but still kept prayer in his life. In 2009, divine faith stepped in when he met Miss Nadean Devine; not knowing she would be God’s answered prayer. At this time, Myrvin realized that which he was seeking was salvation through Jesus. He accepted God as the leader of his life. He intentionally sought to be baptized at St. Paul Community Baptist Church in East New York, Brooklyn under the newly installed Pastor, Rev. Dr. David K Brawley. It is at St. Paul that Myrvin first saw black men of faith in our community sharing the Word of God and supporting one another. He decided to join the church. He finally recognized that God heard and answered his prayers when it came to a spouse and their union. Together they have 5 children, and 2 grandchildren.
Now joined as one, they both decided to join Faith Deliverance Christian Center soon after its’ birth under the leadership of Bishop Jermaine Henderson. Seeing the active male presence at FDCC Minister Myrvin felt led to stay on the path seeking God. Bishop Jermaine Henderson and the founding members selected him to be a Deacon. He didn't want a title or position within the church but he was willing and wanted to serve. Titles didn't impress him and he understood that it was a serious responsibility. Myrvin finally accepted and took the charge of Deacon seriously while serving.
Myrvin has grown spiritually during his walk with The Lord. He is faithful in seeking the Lord; under the leadership of Pastor Kim Hargwood and the Holy Spirits guidance. He has been trusted to speak to God’s people. Minister Myrvin & Evangelist Nadean Garnett are servants of the Lord along with their son Nehemiah
