Elder Juanita Hargwood
Elder
Elder Juanita Hargwood was born and raised in the Village of Hempstead. She gave her life to Christ under the leadership of Reverend Witherspoon, Roosevelt, New York. Juanita loves the Lord and has always had a love and passion for God’s people. Juanita joined the New Hope Institutional Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. John A. Jackson.
It was there that Juanita realized her call to serve the Lord. She joined several ministries at New Hope Institutional Baptist Church. She served in the role of Church Clerk, Sunday School Teacher, Pastor’s Aide Ministry, and the Sanctuary Choir. While serving in various ministries, Juanita was led to pursue her Degree in Community and Human Services. Juanita realized that her sacred calling has allowed her to carry over to her secular employment. As such, after completing her Degree in Community and Human Services, she pursued a master’s degree in social and public policy.
While serving her community, Juanita still had a burning desire in her spirit. One day, she said to the Lord, “There has to be more to my life than this.” As if on cue, Juanita was led to enroll in the New Life School of Theology, where she received her master’s degree in sacred theology and is currently pursuing her Doctoral Degree.
Juanita currently serves as an Elder at the Faith Deliverance Christian Center and serves as the Sunday School Superintendent, Bible Study Teacher, and Church Administrator. Juanita is passionate about her walk with Christ and stands on His word. She longs to hear her Lord and Savior say, “I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. John 17:4K NKJV.
Juanita is the proud mother of three wonderful girls, and Nan to her granddaughter and two grandsons. She also mentors young women.
